Abbey Farm is a privately owned family farm nestling under St Michael's hill in the village of Montacute.

The impressive embattled gatehouse, built in the sixteenth century by Thomas Chard, formed the entrance to the now demolished Cluniac Priory of St Peter and St Paul. It is all that remains of the monastic estate except for the dovecote and carp pond in Abbey field.

Following the dissolution of the monastries the house became a farm for the Phelips family, later of Montacute House, and since early nineteen hundreds has been in private hands.
